  : I have been looking forward to staying at the Jane for quite some time. Even though I knew when I booked that it was being renovated I wasnt really prepared for the amazing state that the hotel was in. It should not be open in this state.

  : I stayed here many times years ago and loved it and looked forward to coming back. The tiny rooms and well maintained shared bathrooms were always part of the charm. Once booked I received a note about renovations; to expect some noise and the restaurant was closed. Fair enough if that were true but alas not. The beautiful entrance is entirely closed and one needs to enter through a side basement door and work ones way through layers of tarp and dusty air to the elevator. Really awful and depressing surprise. I have no doubt that the place will be more amazing than ever once complete but really guys can you not afford to just shut down while you're going through such extensive renovation? I had a busy two days and it was just a place to sleep and shower but really starting and ending ones day navigating through a construction site is just not on at over $200 a day. I would have been less disappointed if they only charged half the price as a construction special but as it is, a bit of a shocking ripoff. The location is second to none and as always, the staff was great; going the extra mile this time I assume to help sooth the anticipated shock of guests caught entirely off guard.

  : I could feel the metal springs in the mattress. Ongoing renovations have resulted in poor facilities for guests. This property has shared bathrooms, and 2 out of the three on our floor were closed. Amenities that the hotel previously provided like drinking water and slippers were not available.

  : I got to sleep in a bed. Staff was nice. The "room" seemed clean.
  : Everything else. This isn't a proper hotel. The Jane is undeniably in the middle of a major renovation - the hallways, elevator, reception desk, every common area - are all exposed wiring and drywall. This is mentioned nowhere in the listing, which at the moment, is blatant false advertising. $464 for two nights to sleep in a quarter trailer in a construction site. With a shared bathroom. And NO A/C, when the listing specifically says there IS. What a complete cheat.
