  : I was a bit undecided whether to put 8 or 9 for the rating, but decided on 9 because it was better than I generally expect from places with an average of 8.5 on booking.com. We just needed somewhere to stay with our two small children for one night in walking distance from our transport arrival and departure points, and for our purposes this place was perfect. The big garden was an amazing bonus, and we managed to spend quite a bit of time there even though it was raining. The staff on reception were friendly, and the one who was there when we arrived helped carry our bags to the top floor, which was much appreciated. I was glad I hadn't let a couple of comments from Google reviews put me off, because neither of them applied to our stay. One of those was about a nightclub across the road - we stayed on a Sunday night, which probably wasn't a nightclub night, and anyway we weren't on the road side of the building. In fact it was so quiet in the night that I could scarcely believe we were in a city. And the other was about a bed sagging in the middle, but our beds were all singles and very pleasantly firm, not the least bit saggy. They may well have replaced all the mattresses since that review, as the mattresses I saw through the doorways of other unoccupied rooms also looked fairly new. We would happily stay here again if we needed somewhere in this area of Porto.
