  : Leaving the apartment. this was such a bad experience. The guy who lives on the island and takes care of the apartment was kinda nice. But that's it.
  : They are scammers! I had to pay by bank, while they say i could pay by card or cash at the room. Then they ask you for 75% more money. And at the room you also need to pay 50% extra. So in total you pay over 100% extra.

  : Great location, close to the beach. The beds were good and the shower pressure was ok.
  : The additional costs (for linnen etc), communication with the staff, tv went in and out, no freezer, the watercooker was dirty (chalk) so we had to use a pan to cook our water.

  : The apartment is small but fine. Nice bath. You can rent bicycles in the village at 8 mins walk.
  : I have booked over 40 times all over the world with Booking.com. Never have I encountered extra costs on top of the amount that is mentioned at the time of booking.All the way down to the bottom of the page, It says in the FinePrint section that there are extra costs of 4.35 per person per day for amenities. Also mentioned: 45 cleaning costs if you stay 3 days or more. I didnt read the fine print cause Ive never encountered any extra costs with booking.com.Later I received an email in which these extra costs were mentioned. I had no option but to go ahead with the booking, since I booked very last minute.Then there were costs that are not mentioned on booking.com at all: -extra booking costs of 15. -12.50 fixed cleaning costs, -bedlinen: 8,50 pp, -bath towel: 4,50 pp, -kitchentowels: 4 per set.You can opt to clean the apartment yourself But you will still have to pay 12.50 fixed cleaning costs. This is a very sneaky way of doing business.Altogether: 45 + 12,50 (cleaning costs), 41,10 amenities + res. costs + 30 linen= 128,60 as extra hidden costs on top of the original quoted price of 98 on booking.com. For 3 nights in november. You can get these costs down if you opt to spend 2 hours cleaning, bring your own bedlinen and towels.Later i contacted booking.com by phone and they agreed to reimburse the 'reservation costs' and 'fixed cleaning costs'.The owner reacted by stating that i 'fraudulously' tried to get more money than i paid myself and that i wrote a 'very intimidating review' and asked booking.com to revoke it:"We have checked your claim with 4 sterren Appartement 't STRANDHUYS Amelander - Kaap met ZWEMBAD and they decided to decline it for the following reason: Fraude van gast : gast heeft wel verbleven en probeert daarna frauduleus meer geld terug te claimen dan hij voor de reservering heeft betaald en schrijft intimiderende review met cijfer 1. verzoeke booking.
