  : Very conveniently located on one of the main streets in the Old Town of Funchal, this Barreirinha Apartment boasts a very nice view over the ocean. Walking to the main sights, restaurants and supermarkets is easy and really nice. Beds are comfortable and allow for a good sleep, if you don't mind the noise from the (lovely) bar downstairs. Pillows should be changed, though.
  : Cleanliness and maintenance are a problem. The apartment was not really clean when we arrived, and it also needs better maintenance, not to mention that it actually needs refurbishment. There is a vacuum cleaner, but it doesn't work well and needs changing. There's no coffee machine, which is strange bearing in mind that the Portuguese drink strong espresso. There is a moka pot, which explodes if you leave it unattended. There also is a drip coffee maker, but since we drink espresso, it wasn't an option for us. I would strongly recommend buying a decent espresso machine. For example, Dolce Gusto ones are about 50 Euro, and capsules are easy to find in local supermarkets. Some kitchenware also needs changing. The coating of non-stick frying pans is damaged, which makes them toxic, and they need to be replaced by new ones. They are not expensive, either. Last but not least, do not forget that there is no elevator in the building, so you would need to carry the suitcases up and down the stairs.

  : Great location - ca 20 minutes pleasent walk along the coast to the city centre (shops, buses, etc.). The ocean view is fabulous!The apartment is spacious, modern, clean and well equipped.
  : There could be noisy live music/disco party on weekends on the street just in front of the house, as there is Bar & Caf (with good espresso in the morning and good beer in the evening). It gets quiet around midnight. For someone this could be advantage and for someone else disadvantage...

  : Super nice location to be in. Apartment is really well located with cool bar just outside. When it comes to "noise" from the bar, we indeed, really enjoyed it. Many times just having our windows open and enjoying the music over the weekend.
  : It really feel that apartment is quite used. It looks good on pictures and from the outside, but once you're in, you feel that it would already deserve small renovation, especially in bathroom.

  : Avoid this accommodation! Your tongue looks good in the picture and that's it. The cafe is a disco every night with loud booming music, many loud guests screaming and going on the street until dawn. Early in the morning, they blow the street with a motorized cleaner for several hours and renovate the tiles in the apartment next door. On Friday and Saturday nights, the music is so loud that the walls in the apartment shake. They don't stop at midnight, they still play music. The double bed will go, but the sofa in the living room is very used, uncomfortable and unsuitable for sleeping. After 4 days we go home exhausted, tired and sleepy because you can't rest here!

  : Flat, equipment and utilities were ok, enough for few days for a family with small children. Ocean view from a room is amaizing and when you open windows in the early morning there is only ocean waves and bird singing melody together.
  : Statement in booking as its accomodation friendly for a family with children (I put such filter looking for a place) in a fake. It's NOT A PLACE FOR FAMILY, at least during Christmas- New Year period. Problem is the bar under the flat. They have each night live and LOUD music till middle of the night and what's more drunken clients stay till 2-3 a.m. afterwards. It's not conditions to give a chance to sleep both kids and parents in such conditions. That my opinion is severe.

  : Staff not available/reachable. Renovation needed, eg bathroom/toilet. Kitchen tools missing, eg Moka brewer. More blankets/bedsheets.
