  : The property charged my card not in PLN (as it is stated in the booking) but in USD which caused Dynamic currency conversion via the terminal operator. Which resulted in an additional $50 ($695 was the original booking, $744 charged) on top of the price shown on booking.com. I messaged the property multiple times explaining that they should've just charged my card in PLN. However, they were not willing to help always responding that this additional cost was just currency conversion and that if I'm not happy with the rate I should contact their terminal service provider. Thanks a lot for the suggestion. But I know how currency conversion works. If you charge the card in your home currency, my bank handles the currency conversion and they have the rate that I accept. But if you choose to charge in USD, then the terminal does the conversion and they apply their scammy rates. That's how they earn money. I don't think they do it every time, otherwise, there would be more unhappy international customers. But they totally refused to acknowledge that there's been some mistake or the payment was processed wrong. So my takeaway: AVOID BOOKING the property unless you use a Polish card that would be properly charged. Or BE PREPARED to pay more than you see in your booking. Because they will process the charge however they want and will give you 0 support if there's something wrong with the amount paid.
