  : Location was good in as much as it is close to the railway station.
  : On arrival the room had an overpowering smell of cigarette smoke. I went to reception and was offered another room - this one smelt slightly better but the air conditioning wasn't working - the room temperature was 28c. I returned to reception and was offered a 3rd room - again this smelt badly of cigarettes. On my 4th visit to reception I asked if they had any rooms which were designated as "non-smoking". The man said "we have a no smoking rule but some people break the rules" with a smirk on his face. I told him every room I'd visited had an ash tray next to the bed so he was clearly not telling the truth. He then offed the keys to a 4th room which still didn't smell clean, and didn't have a very good air-con, but by this time I was too exhausted to argue about it (we had arrived around 11pm after a long day's travel from Romania). The bathroom had a shower with no curtain, and no place to attach the shower head to the wall. There were also ants running around on the floor. In the morning came the final insult, when on arrival back at reception to check out a sour faced woman started sneering "why didn't you answer the phone?" Apparently she was giving us some sort of wake up call but I didn't hear as it as she possibly rang the wrong room or I was attempting to shower. She kept repeating that she had telephoned and asked "why didn't you answer?" I think she was unhappy that we had arrived at reception at 11:20 when checkout is at 11:00, but I've never ever experienced this before in a hotel. There was no apology about the condition of the rooms, and not even an enquiry as to whether everything was ok. Appalling customer service.
