  : The hotel looks nothing like as glossy as the photos. In fact it’s old, dilapidated and desperately needs maintenance. Chipped peeling paint, rotten facia boards, stains on carpet and bedroom furniture.Checked in and was given a room on the ground floor. Arrived at the room and it smelled of old cigarette smoke so went to open the window and realised the safety catch had been broken so opened the window fully! Still couldn’t get rid of the smell and didn’t want to stay there.Other hotel chains ( Premier Inn) do not put single woman traveling alone in ground floor rooms for safety reasons.The receptionist kindly moved me to another room on the first floor. This smelled much cleaner, the windows were secure.I put the air conditioning on and went to use the pool facilities.I arrived at the pool at exactly 7:29pm and was turned away by the staff member saying I was too late he had put the cover on the pool and it was closed.I argued that it was supposed to be open until 8, he said it was last entry at 7:30 and as it was now 7:30 i couldn’t come in. Two other people were turned away behind me. The member of staff had turned all the lights off and proceeded to stand in the leisure club in the dark on his phone with the doors closed.I went back to reception but the member of staff there was less than interested and just said, well it should be open till 8.I am so disappointed because I’d chosen to stay here, to use the facilities after an 11hour shift at the Hospital and to be turned away because Holiday Inn staff can’t be bothered to work was really frustrating.Went back up to my room to find the aircon unit flashing with an error light… went back down to reception but nobody there…I gave up and went to bed, did report the aircon to new staff in the morning.It wasn’t fixed but not surprised. I finally did get to use the pool the next day.The showers were grotty and need cleaning.

  : £85 for a (Box) room & NO breakfast (which we were expecting), asked for twin beds & we got a double, which wasn't overly comfortable!! Food onsite, though good, is very expensive!
