Hotel Marins Playa Suites - Adults Only

  : Its location.
  : We booked the holiday on the understanding that it was an Adults Only hotel. We found on arrival that it was not, it was an accommodation block as part of a much larger hotel across the road. We took breakfast in our block, but the evening meal was in the other buildings across the road. Breakfast food in our block came from across the road, and cooked items were often cold. On three days a service was provided to cook certain items ( eggs, bacon, omelettes) in our building, which improved the situation, but when this was not available, such items were available, but had cooled in transfer from across the road. The noise from the main hotel was clearly heard in our building, and was excessive. I feel the hotels advertising and website is totally mis-leading, and does not accurately describe the Adults Only fascility. We would not have booked had we known the true picture.

  : The view from our room was obscured by the roof over the entrance to the bar; one of two rooms that had their view obstructed. Very disappointing given the price and advertised sea view.The local beach areas were swamped with sea weed and to make matters worse half of the pool side was occupied with premium sun beds that were 25 redeemable against food / drink purchased in the bar; they should make this.clearer when booking.

  : The view was amazing, and the enviroment was tidy. The food was really tasty, and the DJ near the pool played nice music. One of the bar girls was helpful and advised us about drinks, was very kind, when others were passive.
  : In some parts of the room, the sound isolation was bad, and we could hear people walking in the hall, or using the bathroom in their room. What might not be a minus for some people - but we hoped for some freshly squeezed orange juice and that wasn't the case here.

  : Marins is a fantastic company and their hotels and facilities are some of the best in the area. The rooms are always clean and the Suites in particular are in a great location right on the sea front with a brilliant pool and bar area outside. There's lots of things to do - pools, spa, roof terrace, entertainment programme etc and even a supermarket on-site
  : While the Suites are marketed as a premium option, the rooms are smaller and less modern than those in the main hotel. The wardrobe space was limited, particularly as several shelves were taken up by optional duvets which weren't really needed in warm months and the hairdryer in the bathroom cut out quickly and regularly (same when I stayed before) could really use an upgrade. Would also be a great touch to have a bottle of water in the room, particularly as there are fridges and tea and coffee etc. The bath towels are also very small, I'd love a big comfortable towel, especially from a premium hotel.
