  : This is our first time staying in Rockaway Beach and will return to this area with fewer crowds and a lovely beach. The house location is almost perfect but seniors beware (see below). My family really liked this house.
  : August high season + fees and taxes put this property at over $1K a night. At that rate, I was disappointed to find the windows blurry with salt spray. The first thing I did was wash the living area front windows for a good 40 minutes so we could enjoy the view! The carport area (main entry) could also use a good cleaning. The house needs updating and still has '70s popcorn ceilings, a dated kitchen, and carpeting long past due for replacement. The location is great as long as you are able to climb up and down the uneven sand-covered rip-rap erosion stones to get to and from the beach. I had a hip replacement and am still a little stiff and required help. A fall on these stones would be ugly. And yes, I realize that very few places along the coast have actual stairs or more senior-friendly beach access.
