  : The food was ok, staff were nice and location is lovely
  : Dirty room windows.Tight stairway .Uneven floorboards.Smelt a bit musty and stale.Live music far too loud causing vibrations in the room.Fire alarm went off but no one came to explain the reason. Quite disturbing at the time.

  : Took a trip down memory lane as we used to regularly stay at the Crown hotel but hadnt been for 15 years. We loved the food and the party atmosphere in the bar and were really looking forward to it as it was a bank holiday. Somethings are better left in the past as frankly the food was disappointing, for lunch we ordered ham sandwiches which cost 9.99 each, so I was expecting something a little special but it literally was a ham sandwich which then came with a pile of chips. For dinner I had the lobster salad which was half a cold tough lobster with a mountain of salad that could have fed a family of 4 at a 70s buffet.We ordered a bottle of Pino Grigio but got a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, at this point I couldnt be bothered pointing it out. By the time we finished dinner the bar was nearly empty. The rooms were updated and comfortable. Breakfast pretty much went the same way, piles of toast which I asked them not to bring as it would be a waste. Pretty advantage eggs (cold) bacon dried out. Less is more

  : Just returned from a couple of nights at The Crown. Portpatrick is a lovely place, and the Crown is an ideal base. A busy pub, with very friendly staff, and excellent food within a very pleasant and large restaurant area. The room was small, but very clean and comfortable. No noise from pub below (we were on top floor). Good value, and very centrally located.
  : The room size might put some people off, but it was fine for us.

  : Great pub atmosphere. Excellent location. Nice room, great shower (in room 3 at least). Good staff relations.
  : The restaurant. Breakfast variable, ( fake haggis and inedible potato scone one day). Dinner about 5 too expensive, eg.small breaded cod (Birds eye style) and chips 18.95. Smoked Salmon and Prawn Salad ( 2 tiny slices salmon, spoonful of prawn marie rose, large dollop each of Cole slaw and salad cream, huge mound of salad 19.95).

  : Great location, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Good selection of food and drinks. Excellent breakfast catering for all tastes.

  : The first room we were offered was a weird shape with sloping ceilings and the small window faced a blank wall of the next building so was very claustrophobic. However it was no bother to change it for another which was much nicer and had a view towards an old church. The shower was super powerful despite being on the top floor, and the free toiletries were very useful. The cooked breakfast was excellent.
  : Wed have appreciated a selection of fruit juices at breakfast instead of just orange. There was a bit of noise from a karaoke night but being on the top floor we werent too bothered by it. We couldnt get parked very near to the hotel so were lucky it stayed dry when we carried luggage to the hotel then away again on departure.
