  : Friendly welcome received from Jo and Mark upon arrival. They had also messaged us to say we could check in earlier than the planned 4pm, which was great! We especially appreciated the little touches provided such as an afternoon cream tea, Cornish biscuits and fresh milk. Whilst there, it was my wifes birthday and they remembered and left some handmade fudge and a card. Fantastic location upon the hill looking out across Polperro and the countryside. Free parking provided in the village car park, which is a short walk down the hill from the accommodation. This is not an apartment for anyone who doesnt like steep hills or steps! The apartment was warm, clean and well finished. Ample room for two people to relax in cosy lounge. The kitchen was functional and included a washing machine for longer stays. There was a fold out table to eat meals at and a good size fridge freezer. Well fitted warm shower room with everything provided toiletries and towels. Plenty of hot water. Hooks to dry wet clothing. The bedroom was downstairs spacious and light, with a view onto the outdoor seating area and Polperro. Lots of furniture Large bed with pleasant linen, dressing table, big armchair and huge wardrobe so adequate room for luggage and clothes. We would return to The Retreat and thank Jo and Mark for their hospitality.
