  : The convenience and location were fantastic
  : 1. We had two large suitcases and we were told we were up on the first floor. They do not have a lift so we needed to carry our bags up to reception and then up the stairs to the next level. One of us had a broken arm so this made it very challenging. When we got to the 1st floor, our room was actually up a long spiral staircase. We found this to be quite dangerous getting our bags up and down, trying to manoeuvre a 25kg bag around the stairs. As someone who has very poor balance, it was quite scary using the spiral staircase, and the handrail cuts off at the approach to the top of the stairs 2. We stayed 1 night. When we booked, we were not informed that it was the weekend of L'Étape du Tour de France that had 17,000 competitors race. It was disappointing that there was no disclaimer for the weekend to say all transport is stopped on the Saturday. As the Mercure is centrally located, the event took place in all the surrounding streets on the morning of our checkout. As we needed to go to the airport, there were no taxis/Ubers/trams in the city as the roads were all closed for the event. It was a great atmosphere, but made it incredibly stressful trying to navigate ourselves on foot out of the city to an open road to make our international flight. They organised a driver for us thankfully and we walked the 3.5km to him.

  : Wish we received information before we arrived on how best to avoid the crazy traffic due to the Tour. It was very hot and all the parking garages were full.
