  : Location - near downtown area of Monterey - lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Fisherman's Wharf / Cannery Row not too far away (walking distance or short drive).Room - the rooms are beautifully designed with high ceilings. Good wifi and room facilities
  : Parking ChargeWater wasn't very hot/ a bit temperamental. The staff were helpful and we were offered an alternative room, but preferred ours.

  : There’s absolutely no airflow or natural light in the rooms. The front door is a French door door no other windows to be had. Nothing that opens with a screen. Luckily, we got in late and we were leaving early and just needed a bed. But I would not consider this for a stay of any longer.

  : - hotel is within walking distance of pier, whale watching, restaurant- nicely decorated rooms- breakfast was neat and fresh fruit. Little choice options though. - nice to be able to park at hotel and not on the street. Too expensive though and not guarded.
  : Upon arrival, I was shocked. The house is historic but does not look very well maintained. Kind of pushed away in streetscape. We had a room on the first floor, almost on the street with very bad locks. I did not feel safe here. On the other side of the room were French doors that were also easy to access from the street. Poor hanging and locking work. Window covering slats were a bit bent and vitrage over them so you didn't really have privacy. With vagrants on the street all in all not a very safe feeling.

  : The location was good close to the main centre of town.
  : The pictures of the property on booking.com were very misleading of what the hotel is actually like to stay in. The picture of the building listed on booking.com and rooms look like a lovely boutique B&B. The reality was a really standard cheap looking motel not even in the building pictured. The rooms were very dark, with little natural light and were very dated in decoration. There was no air conditioning so the rooms were very hot. The breakfast was also disappointing, with only cold foods available and in a tiny room with only 4 tables, one poor woman working trying to keep up when she needed more colleagues to help manage breakfast and check outs. Overall a disappointing and very overpriced stay in comparison to other properties we have stayed during our holiday. We felt that the owners/managers were solely interested in maximum profit and not investing in maintenance of the property or sufficient staff.
