  : Location couldnt be better! Lovely character property. Staff were really accommodating. The triple family room was huge!
  : Unusual for there not to be shampoo/shower gel in bathroom, but easy enough to purchase cheaply in town. There is a night porter, which is great, but after a late night drive to look at the stars from the Orme, there was no one to let us back in! A phone call to the hotel meant this was remedied fairly quickly, but I felt bad about waking up a member of staff!

  : Location was good. Parking was good.
  : The room we stayed in 174 was very dated. The curtains did not close easily. The window had gaps letting in cold air. The radiator did not work. The shower was on a mixer tap that was very old fashioned. The drawers had missing handles. The wardrobe doors were stiff. The seats in the bay window were matted in grime worn in. The carpet was tatty. The swimming pool was over crowded on three occasions when we tried to use it. No staff manning the pool area. Very poor organisation.

  : Perfect location. Our second stay here, as my grandkids love the indoor pool.
  : I cannot begin to describe the rudeness of the man on reception - but Ill briefly try. This was our second stay, and the first time it was great! One of our party is in a wheelchair, and the facilities were accommodating. After booking two rooms and paying online this time, we arrived to be told by this smug, unhelpful person that because of our wheelchair user, we couldnt stay in the room he had allocated, as it was not on the ground floor. He insisted that wheelchair users are not allowed in the lift in case there is a fire. This, he firmly declared, has been their policy for years. When I told him we stayed on the third floor just last year, he said that couldnt be possible. When I insisted it was, he said well thats what youre saying, but it cant be right. He also said I should have mentioned the wheelchair user when booking, but the property is advertised as accessible - and I didnt see the need as wed stayed before and knew the layout. So after accusing me of lying, I asked him what were we supposed to do? He then grudgingly looked through the booking forms and said that another party due in that afternoon had booked a room on the ground floor, and he would swap us over. So after that initial unpleasant encounter, which could have been dealt with emphatically, we checked in. The hotel doesnt have air conditioning, and my room was so hot that I had to ask for a fan. It was dirty and dusty, but it did help. The showers in the pool area are covered in thick, black mould and look as though they havent been cleaned in a long time.
