: On our way to Kato Zakros, we were informed that internet/communication was down (nothing to do with the room, was for the whole area). Still, I got an email and the owner waited us to take us to the room. Which is probably on the best spot, overlooking the bay...So, you get a rather big detached unit, with 2 ACs, clean and cozy, and lots of space outside to sit and just look the view or the sky. You also get a very attentive owner, who cares. We had room service (unexpected, we are very grateful) and some of our forgotten kids' clothes were sent to our next destination. Bottom line: I would go again. I felt I was treated nicely, by people who care.

: hospitality of owner was great! she provided some own fruits, honey, olive oil, cookies; helped to buy oil from local cooperative (advise -as a perfect present & for own use) and was ready to assist almost any of our wish. similar things with local taverns - simple but very nice food and perfect staff. as for the apartments we liked also the great view - every morning we followed sunrise - magic thing! can imagine what could think ancient Minoans many years ago!?
: the apts is not close to the beach. 15 min walk down from the apartment would require. but I like this for some extra activity... or you need to use a car. shower slot is a small one (guess 0.7x0.7m) so if you are heavy or a big man you might have some problems (but it is not supplied with plastic or glass screens, just weatherproof fabric and not restrict your motions)
