  : Staff was very friendly and helpful, design of the hotel also was good. This is new hotel in these area thats why so clean and everything is new.

  : - Poor cleanliness (dirty leftover food container under the bed and chewed seeds behind the bedside tables, stained carpets) - Very small room (hard for two people to navigate, photos on booking.com have been stretched horizontally to make the rooms seem bigger) - Very bad noiseproofing (street noise and noise from adjacent rooms) - Very strong smoking smell in non-smoking room - Disappointing breakfast compared to 3 other similarly priced Istanbul hotels I've stayed at - booked 21 m2 room but was provided what seemed to be a <15 m2 room - No place to put suitcases or hang things - Many features mentioned online and in reservation were NOT present e.g. (no garden view, no inner courtyard view, no soundproofing, no bathrobe, no executive lounge access, no proper wardrobe/closet, no easily accessible clothes rack)

  : The location of Opale in Karakoy was excellent. Several locals commented unprompted how our location was very ideal. Outside of the touristic center, but close to the T1 tram (which takes you straight into Sultanahmet, the sightseeing center) and busses, and walking distance to sights like the Galata tower and the Galata/Beyoglu neighborhood which is full of hip restaurants and bars. The room itself, while small (like most Istanbul rooms), was nicely decorated, modern, clean and comfortable. And Ozgur went out of his way to help us and get us what we needed! The check in desk was also staffed 24hours which didn't matter so much for our stay but was comforting to know they were there to help.
