  : The location was excellent for Doncaster Races and the staff were very friendly
  : The check-in was confusing, the front of the hotel was shut and seemed to be just the Restaurant, The entrance was through what looked like a building site and via an open back door. The room was exceptionally hot and it was impossible to turn the radiator down. The breakfast was a sad display of croissant and cereal, there was no milk visible and no-one to ask about tea/toast options, so at would have been £8 and did not fit the online description of a good breakfast, The place looks a bit tired, although at £50 for an overnight stay remains value for money

  : There was nothing we liked about the Grand St Leger Hotel, from start to finish! I am not sure who wrote the reviews on booking.com that encouraged us to book that dump. When we checked into our rooms, we were shocked at the state of the rooms what a disgrace, room 99 and room 110 are not suitable to be let out period, no one had vacuumed the dirty carpets, our room had leftover biscuits on the carpet, lots of crumbs everywhere, towels were makeup marked and beige in colour, broken grubby bed and furniture. We asked to be moved to another suitable room but we were informed that there were no available rooms, which we found untrue because there were only 2 other residents we saw including us plus the car park was empty for the hotel to be fully booked. The stair carpet was dirty and the corridors we smelling of dampness and sewage. It was appalling to find ourselves in such a hotel.
  : We raised the issue with the receptionist and she was very rude telling us that it's a period building, so you are bound to find dust and dirt somewhere, the staff were not helpful at all even after taking pictures on my phone to show them the problems with the rooms, we didn't want to stay there any longer, so we searched nearby for an alternative hotelvbut unfortunately most of the hotels in tharlt area were fully booked, We asked to see the manager and we were informed he was not available. It was beyond me that a hotel does not have a manager on duty or the housekeeping staff. It was an absolute nightmare, we ended up changing into our party frocks in the bathroom after cleaning the hair covered floor ourselves. I will never book that

  : It was warm and it had a bed. It was close to my venue in which i was working the next day. Can't give any more positives.
  : Room was dirty and grotty. Was advised we had been upgraded on arrival, I would hate to see the original room as the one I was given had not been dusted prior to my attendance. I had to find the light switches in the corridor to find my room. Went to reception and waited 15 minuets before I was seen to, requested Iron and was given immediately and told board was in the room, it wasn't. Another 15 minuets later I got my board. Bar too expensive, pushes you into town which I did just a few stops away on a bus which picks you up outside. Will not be back but least it was cheap.

  : The waitresses and night porter where sweet, kind, helpful and accommodating.
  : It really wasn't clean or comfortable. The shower head was disgustingly dirty with black mould around all the nodules. The bath had another person's hair in it. The shower curtain was dirty with mildew and mould growing on it at the bottom. The bath facilities were outdated, tired and overused and so was a major disappointment, as I purchased the room specifically for the bath which I ended up not using. There were dirt or some form of sticky crumbs or grit lying on the mat on the laminate floor that stuck to my feet when I walked over it, so I ended up folding this up and partially putting under the bed to avoid the annoyance. The thermostat on the radiator was broken (which I reported) and so I had to spend the night with the widow open because it was too hot, but then as a result I could not sleep well because of the traffic noise. Sorry to say I wouldn't come back. The night porter and staff where lovely though.

  : Bins were being cleared at 6.15, drilling at 9 on a Sunday morning. Air conditioning unit was loud until at least 10pm.
