  : The room had black mould on the inside of the bedroom window and under the glass door of the bath/shower. There was a large daddy long legs and lots of dust and cobwebs in the bathroom. In the restaurant the menus were very dirty with food staines and not wiped clean.

  : Inside was not what I expected. Dated and not all that clean. The room carpet was dirty the bedding had stains. No batteries in the remote so when I asked for some they said they had non so had to drive out 15 minutes to the nearest shop to buy some. Bathroom wasn’t very clean either. The pictures in frames had dropped, the shelves in the wardrobes were dusty. Breakfast was uncooked or warmed up, hard bacon and tough sausages but the eggs were uncooked. It was a very small breakfast it cost £24 each. I’d pay £4 for that in a cafe. Tried the restaurant again in the evening and it was no better. Starter was ok, main was over cooked dry fish the rest was mediocre. I ordered a cocktail for them to bring out a totally different drink with raspberries in that I can’t consume because they didn’t have the ingredients for the one I chose, so I let them know and I asked for a mocktail she asked if I wanted vodka with it, I stated I didn’t like vodka so she said she would ask the guy to rustle something up. Again another drink came out placed firmly and rudely buy the guy with raspberries again but a different drink so I gave up and gave it my partner and he said it had vodka in it. We paid £97 and left very disappointed. As we left we walked the gardens and my partner proposed (only part of our anniversary I enjoyed) so we booked a spa treatment for the following morning before leaving. We were told that the machine wasn’t working after booking and paying so the treatment would be hands on. We went and the treatment we booked was for a couples room but we were called into different rooms so we ask them to correct this and after 15 minutes this was done. But what we experience was not a nice relaxing massage at all. Mine was missing areas of the massage and could barely feel a thing. I was lay waiting for the massage to begin properly and waited for my neck and shoulder massage which is where I told her was my area of concern. That part never happened at all.

  : Good sized rooms, dog friendly, nice staff, decent pool and spa
  : Decor very worn and tired - whole place needs refurbishing. Especially notice that the carpets are dirty and lot of furniture is grubby and threadbare. Lots of evidence of mouse traps inside the restaurant and rat boxes outside. Food expensive and not great. My advocacy at breakfast was off.

  : reception staff - greeting on arrival was nothing more than sign here and your room is down the corridor. Returned to reception and asked where breakfast was served the receptionist didn't even look up simply pointed and said 'there'. Returned to reception to ask if could borrow a pen - was told 'i've only got one and i need it'
