  : The contactless check in process was easy. The owner was available on WhatsApp and text message, and responded very quickly when we could not locate the apartment. The location is great for access to the beach, the old port, and many amazing restaurants. The kitchen is well equipped and the air conditioner did a good job cooling the apartment. Had we finished our planned stay, I believe the kitchen, living room, and outdoor patio would have been fine places to relax and enjoy our stay,
  : We booked for 6 nights. The street address does not get you to the correct location -- you have to use the GPS coordinates. There is no parking assigned to the property, which was not clear to me when I booked. Street parking is a challenge.This property is described as "traditional" because it is someone's house (or part of a house) that was converted into a short-term rental. It is a very bad choice if you are mobility challenged or afraid of heights or narrow spaces. The description did not describe the very narrow and steep steps that lead to the main sleeping area. The steps are also of poor construction, made with plywood. The treads are not level and multiple steps have repairs because they bend under your weight while walking up or down. The handrail next to the bed to protect you from the stair opening is very low, barely reaching my knee. Going down the steps in the middle of the night to use the bathroom is dangerous if you have any problem with mobility or balance. The bathroom is very small. Fairly typical for a European shower, but not adequately described in the property advertisement.After the first night, we were unhappy with the steps and the challenges of getting to and from the sleeping area. At lunchtime, I contacted the owner to cancel the rest of the reservation and asked to be partially refunded for the unused nights that they could rent to another guest. The owner refused to cancel the reservation and refused to provide any type of refund. I contacted Booking.com who also contacted the owner and they still would not make any accommodation, stating that the policy states "no refunds." I acknowledged the policy but believe that the property description is inaccurate. I would not have rented if it properly described the challenge with the steps. My spouse does not do well with narrow spaces and heights.

  : The hosts gave us the keys. We met on the first day. They also have a house next door for rent. There is a key compartment next to the front door. This is very convenient. You can hide your keys and go to the beach.

  : We liked the location, as it was literally seconds from the beach and a host of wonderful restaurants and bars. The House was spacious (for two) with all of the basic facilities you would need. The air conditioning was especially welcome! The price was also something we liked - very competitive compared to other properties nearby.
  : Starting with 10We would deduct 1 mark for the stairs to the main bedroom. Very narrow and difficult to navigate.Wed also deduct 1 for the toilet being downstairs - somewhat challenging to visit in the middle of the night, given the stairs!Another 1 away for no sun beds on the roof - an obvious improvement to make.The final mark off is for the general standard of the House. It misses any luxury touches and is better suited to a younger couple looking to visit Crete on a budget.
