  : The lady is very nice and friendly. She serves a great breakfast in the morning and cleans your room too.The house is small but for a couple of days is perfect. It's right in the center of the old town. Thanks you for your hospitality and I'll see you again
  : I'd have loved to have a better furnished kitchen with more pots, pans, colander etc so that I can cook my meals. That aside, all good

  : excellent location - very close to the harbour area in the old town, yet down a side street and really quiet; good price and a friendly and welcoming host
  : the kitchenette area in the room was only very modestly equipped - having said that it was great there was a fridge in there in the first place, as well as a couple of plates and mugs!

  : It was a lovely breafast with orange juce and orange from the hosts garden. Gltenfree bread with marmelade, chesse and ham. Tomatoes and olives and coffee. It was a wonderful meal in the street.

  : To appreciate Eleonora, you must understand in advance that it is in Chania's interesting (but very touristy) old town, nestled among tall buildings on narrow pedestrian streets. The free parking area at the waterfront was mostly full (and this is off season) but we found a vacant spot within minutes. From there we had to carry our luggage about 300 meters to the lodging. Host, Sophia, is very accommodating and the ground floor room we had included most of what was promised in the listing at a reasonable price, 48/night for two including breakfast (a pleasant surprise since the listing says "no meals". In the morning, Sophia delivered coffee and an ample, tasty cold breakfast on a tray.
  : I'm definitely not happy with the mismatch between the listing information for our room and the reality. The fact that Eleonora is not accessible by vehicle, even just to drop off luggage, is definitely omitted. I can only assume this is purposeful since the booking acknowledgment email describes the parking and access route in detail -- but this is only disclosed after you've committed to stay. Our ground floor room was comfortable but omitted the "coffee machine". The "kitchenette" did not include a cooktop as is usually implied by that term. In addition, the room was more cavelike than I expected instead of the promised "view, terrace". These terms apparently refer to the rooftop terrace, which is indeed there but has limitations. For one, I had to ask how to access it and Sophia quickly delivered a separate key to the stairway door. The small terrace is shaded, with a small table and a few kitchen style chairs, but "view" is a gross exaggeration. Because all the surrounding buildings are 1 to 3 stories higher than Eleonora, the only view you get besides neighboring walls is a 10 degree sliver of mountains to the east. In summary, the listing overstates some of Eleonora's features.

  : Thank you for the stay. Sofia was very welcoming and friendly. We need more like her. We had an amazing breakfast and hospitality, felt like we are cared. I'm gladly recommending to come here.
  : The only things I would suggest is to upgrade main bed and we didn't had hot water, but maybe it's just for us.

  : Lack of hot water, extremely loud, you can even hear cats passing outside, very difficult to sleep, very cold ( we were staying in March ), the owner of the place is very noisy person, comes in to your room without the reasons all the time, sometimes without knocking. I found it very disturbing.

  : We enjoyed the location within the city, easy walking to the harbor and yet not too busy for sleeping at night. The balcony was a delight, sitting and.watxhimg.the narrow streets, the details of buildings and passers by.Sophia, Eleonora's mother in law, is a delight, she looked after us and gave us a wonderful breakfast despite it being so early in the morning when we had to leave.
  : The bed wasn't as firm as I like and the shower head was hand held as no where to attach it to the wall.
