  : The lack of help we received from staff. We got the run around. Very upset with how our stay turned out. A friend of mine highly recommended Fogcatcher Inn for my son and i. So, i booked an ocean view room Wednesday July 24th. We show up and get the room key. Walk to the room. I expected an ocean view however it wasn’t. I figured it was just a mix up so i walked to the front desk and was told that’s what we reserved. I informed that was not the case so i showed front desk our reservation and she says she did see we had a reservation however it was given to someone else. She attempted to call her manager James. Told us to wait in the room she gave us. However we chose to wait outside until we were called. We had been waiting outside close to 2 hours so i called the reservation number. At that time i was unaware the reservation line wasn’t in California. She attempted to call hotel twice however was unsuccessful with reaching front desk. I explained everything to the agent and she apologized for the lack of help we had received and suggested we go back. So we did. I informed front desk we were waiting outside and hadn’t received call from manager. She said she text him and he didn’t respond. She told me we could call at another location and he would be there. So we called another location i asked for him but that agent wanted an explanation why i needed him instead. I explained and he said he would just give us an ocean view. He told us to go back to front desk and tell her to cancel room. So, i walked to front desk and told her. She said the other hotel was much nicer and newer and we’d be happier there. That statement lead me to believe it was better so i was happy. Like finally all this waiting outside would be worth it. When we arrived there very shortly i thought we had wrong hotel. It was older and was definitely NOT nicer and newer. At that point i felt like she was patronizing me. Room smelled like cigarettes and was hot the moment we walked in.

  : The room was clean but the furniture was worn. Strong chemical smell in room. It was pricey for the value.
