Wonderful

: Location up at the hill but not too far from the center. Beautiful are to stay. Good size of the room and confortable bed.
: Just a small problem with the shower.

Disappointing

: The location was exactly what we needed and fortunately we were able to use the limited private parking available for no extra cost. The staff was lovely once they were there but we had to wait for them to show up.
: We tried contacting the hotel a couple of days prior to request an earlier check in and no one called back or responded properly asides from an automated message for online check-in which was strange and tedious. The carpet and walls had stains, the beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. In the single room there was a used milk pot left on the floor, no windows or fans to open apart from a garden door which had a sign to keep closed and due to the room being on the basement floor it was too hot to sleep. Both in the single and double rooms we could hear other guests too much (so far as to being able to hear someone use the loo in the night which was as unpleasant as you can imagine).

Very Good
Traveller Type: with friends
: Very friendly staff, comfy room, nice breakfast.
  : The rooms feel dated.

: Location and good value for Bristol
: The thing that all hotels on St Paul’s Road seem to have in common is thin walls, which is not something they will get investment to fix. If your next door neighbour has the TV on or a video on their laptop running, you will usually hear it (as in ‘be able to make out specific passages of dialogue’). If you are prepared for this, then all is well otherwise - and I have yet to have someone keep their sound on past 10.30pm (and I assume too that if there was sound past 11pm, the concierge could step in if you asked.)

Fair

  : It’s location
: Rooms were not cleaned daily, room overlooked bins so I was woken up by seagulls at 6:am. Bins were also visited by bin hokers late at night.

Good

: Staff were helpful, breakfast to go was a nice touch especially that they catered for dietary requirements. Bathroom was small but functional. Bed was comfortable enough for a night.
: As others have said, carpet needs changing, decor is tired, parking is a nightmare
