  : The staff were very helpful and friendly did their upmost to help would definitely recommend this pub the food was lovely thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal .
  : Can't really think of anything except the shelf in the bathroom wasnt situated very well you couldn't hold your head over it when cleaning your teeth but that was a minor problem the shower was lovely if a little cosy .

  : This was a lovely old building. Good to explore battle. The staircase was a talking point!
  : The rooms were missing something. A bit of character?! Cafetire was disgusting. Hard to fill kettle up in sink. Most disappointing were the staff. We didnt get asked about breakfast on arrival. We went out and had dinner. Came back and wanted a drink and immediately were asked what we were doing there. Telling us we cant eat. After explaining we were staying and just wanted a drink that was fine. When going to outlet room we asked about breakfast and said we wanted a table and were told the best time to come down. In the morning when we went down to breakfast we were again asked what we were going there, then they didnt know which wax our taxable as it hadnt been written down properly. We werent given menus on being seated. When eventually we were and ordered drinks lattes came out in tiny glasses and we could see others being served in latte glasses. Breakfast was beautiful. No complaints and compliments to the chef. Just a shame we mere made to feel so unwelcome and like we were an inconvenience by the front of house staff apart from the first girl who showed us to our room.

  : ease of booking, pub atmosphere and the evening meal was superb and the breakfast terrific. Very local to the high street and the Abbey.
  : I appreciate the cost would be higher but breakfast included would have been a nice option. Although some reviews mentioned the floor noises our room 2 was particularly bad and certainly can be heard by other guests, not sure what can be done about it though

  : The room was over the pub bar and near a roundabout, but the room was very quiet! Convenient location for us in Battle Excellent free car parking
  : The pub was advertised with creaky floorboards. but they were VERY creaky - no quiet trips to the bathroom during the night! We had trouble finding the switch for the landing light, which was very necessary as the room was up a short flight of stairs, very dark without a light.
