  : The location is amazing, so peaceful. Cottage is very well equipped, everything you need. Owners very friendly. Great fishing ponds . We had an excellent week and we're sad to leave . We will return in the near future.

  : Scales Cottage was the most excellent base for exploring the Northern Lakes and Fells. A lovely cottage, well-appointed, and in a quiet and secluded location. The hosts were helpful, without being intrusive, and the fishing lake is a perfect spot to sit and share a drink after a hard day's walking.
  : Look out if, like me, you are over 6ft tall. I lost count of the times I banged my head on the beams! My fault really; should learn to duck.

  : It is in a beautiful location, peaceful. lounge a nice place to relax.
  : uncomfortable and small beds. would consider replacing with modern king size. Dark old fashioned furniture. some kitchen cupboards needed a wipe and also quite dusty upstairs. unusual not to provide towels. woken in night by loud pipes. Also even just a small welcome gift helps. told to collect key from another house but couldnt find anyone to start with and then turns out key was inside the cottage - the door was just stiff to open. It would also be nice to have a newer bench or 2 to sit outside. very old rickety picnic bench only place to sit.

  : Property was clean and comfortable inside. Lovely location for anyone who likes peace and quiet. Quality bedding, comfortable beds and lounge. Well equipped kitchen and enclosed garden area for dogs.
  : Unclear from the advert that there were many stairs up to the property from parking spot, sitting room was on 1st floor and even bathroom required a few stairs up then down. Outside seating had seen better days and wasn't really suitable for sitting out.
