  : Balaguer is a charming town by the river Segre. The rooms at the hostal are located on top of a bar in an old charming house by the river. It is close to the older parts of the city and Esglsia de Santa Maria. In most cases the key to your room will be waiting for you on the counter but we did a late booking and had help from the bar owner to call the staff. A man quickly arrived and cleared all the details. The room was clean and the beds comfortable but the room were not soundproofed so if you're sensitive bear that in mind. The bar/ restaurant downstairs was great for eating and having a drink and having breakfast. They made really good coffe and the bocadillios were made when you placed your order. Very fresh and the owners extremely hospitable. We really enjoyed our stay, the stroll by the river and the old parts of the small town of Balaguer and if we return we'll definitely stay at Hostal Sant Miguel again.
