  : The mansion is beautiful and the inn keeper Alfred is an extraordinary man with a very interesting life. We had an excellent breakfast here and had a very pleasant conversation with Alfred during our breakfast. The location of the inn is right inside the old historic town with access to many nice restaurants and museums to see. We will likely to go back when we visit Auburn again.

  : We arrived a little early and Alfred was very kind and got our room ready an hour before check-in. We loved the charm of the main entrance to the house. I wish we had the time to eat breakfast there in the morning.
  : The look of the room would have been better if there had been wood floors instead of carpet in the room. There was a slight smell of dampness in the room.

  : We reserved two rooms for the night. Check in was great. We enjoyed the character of the rooms. The rooms needed some upkeep but were very clean and the beds were comfortable.
  : The main reason we stayed there at the Inn were the rave reviews regarding Alfred's delious breakfast. We arrived down stairs at 9am for breakfast but other than a couple of other guest there was nobody down there. We went into the kitchen area to see if anyone was there but found no one. The coffee pot was on so we poured ourselves a cup of coffee. While we poured our coffee we noticed several clamshell containers that contained scones from a local chain store. About 9:15am two very nice young lady's came in the door apologizing for the delay and said breakfast would be ready around 9:30am. True to their word they came out at 9:30 and announced breakfast was ready and we could come in and serve ourselves. This is the disappointing part.. nothing from breakfast was "homemade". It was all store bought. I do not know if it was a one time thing or if it is store bought every morning but it was a huge disappointment.
