  : Rooms are all handmade but really well done! Beds are comfortable, and you get a nice locker space for your backpack. The bathrooms are quite messy when there's a lot of guests and could really use a redo.They have the hostel bar which has a very nice balcony to the river. The hosts are very kind!

Disappointing

  : First the good...Des Arts is in a great location just a few steps from the river and cathedral. It's clean and the mattresses are very comfy. There's a free public parking lot nearby. First come but there were plenty of spaces when we arrived at 3pm on a Saturday. Stop by Des Arts first to get the gate code so you don't have to walk all the way around. The staff are all friendly and as helpful as they can be under the circumstances. The bar has a lovely view and nice drinks and snacks. I would give it 7 stars if you can book a private room or the 3 bed dorm. (10 if they turn the AC back on in the rooms)
  : Now for the bad...in the 8 bed dorm we were in (#7) the beds in the dorms are marked below so if they're folded down you can't see the numbers resulting in people taking whatever bed they want. The problem with that is the keys are for the locker above your assigned bed. Also the beds need some serious privacy improvement. You are literally 2 inches from the person on the bed next to you with no way to screen yourself from their reading light, germs, or bad breath. My husband and I were on the top and bottom of a bunk bed which meant that we were sleeping next to strangers instead of each other.The air conditioning is turned off in the sleeping rooms. It's on in the common areas but turned off in the dorms. Staff was told it wasn't working but that's not true. They are all on standby at the main controller. Not ok when it's so hot.The elevator doesn't work.They cleaned and restocked the bathroom at 9 am so if your morning routine requires you to use the toilet before then bring your own toilet paper because both men's and women's were out of TP at 8am.Breakfast is not really breakfast. No coffee or tea is provided. It's just some milk, bread, butter, cheese and meat which wasn't enough for everyone and wasn't restocked in the hour we were in the kitchen. You can bring your own food and cook. The kitchen is large and has lots of pots and pans and there is a fridge.All in all, Des Arts has a lot of potential. If they ever install privacy curtains and a solid barrier between the beds I would give it 10 stars but in this new world of COVID, having to smell the breath of the stranger next to you is unacceptable.

  : The decor was lovely, a nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. The location was excellent and very close to the town centre and main attractions.

  : Does the job very quite when I was there, great location with outdoor space and right next to river.
  : Not very nice rooms, mine didn't get wifi. And the breakfast is very minimal 2 options. Also the sensor lights were annoying, it would go dimmer in bathrooms when you were in the toilet or shower where it couldn't see you, the big light in my room actually didn't work but had windows and individual lights on beds which was a nice touch.

  : Close to the old heart of the city. Inexpensive.
  : It was very empty and yet I was in a dorm with two men(which was fine), but one of them snored and snored all night. The other man left. Dont know where he slept.
