: The location was convenient.
: The owner lives in the property with shared / unsecured access to rooms and living areas. This was not in the description when we made the booking and not mentioned by the owner at any point before or when we checked in. We found out in the middle of the first night, when we found him walking through the hall and pushing our son's cot, which had been in the hall as the heating in the second room was not working. It was terrifying and completely inappropriate as this was a private home that we had booked and paid a premium for. We contacted Booking.com and asked to leave and receive a refund, but they were unable to assist and asked us to discuss with the owner. The owner was quick to communicate, but was rude and unapologetic. He was only upset about losing his booking and didn't think there was anything wrong with deceiving guests. He only offered to refund 50%, despite us only being there 1 night in a 11 night stay and would not budge. In the end we agreed to stay for 5 nights, as he was going to be out of town during that time, and so that we would not lose all the money. We still lost money and had the inconvenience of having to stay in a place that made us incredibly uncomfortable and then had to move / rebook a different place. The whole situation was disappointing and the owner's response was completely shocking. He doesn't care at all about guests and only about making money. As for the place, it's a small studio with a slight partition separating the living area from a bedroom. It's very small, but functional. There is another room down the hallway, which is difficult to get the heating to work in without the other areas getting cold. The whole place is decorated with Marilyn Monroe pictures, which is adds to the creepy factor of the owner. There is no washing machine / microwave, despite other reviews suggesting so.
