: I was on a two week cycle tour of the Netherlands and wanted to stay in good value traditional Dutch accommodation. The Gulden Leeuw did not disappoint. Beautiful location in the centre of town surrounded by historic buildings and close to a harbour and canal network. Comfortable and quiet room, compact bathroom with a good shower and a radiator to dry my cycle clothes . Good Wi-Fi throughout. A lovely restaurant attached where I had a substantial evening meal ( paid separately) as well as my breakfast which came within the price. There was secure parking for my cycle ina nearby garage owned by the hotel. All the staff were friendly and hospitable. I thoroughly recommend an overnight stay at this hotel and the beautiful town of Workum. Very good value compared to some hotels I had stayed in on my cycle tour.
: plenty of stairs to get to my room, but this is a historic building so I would expect nothing less and it didnt detract from my overall impression of the hotel.

: We left before regular breakfast time, but a nice breakfast/lunch bag was prepared for each of us.

: Very nice place with good food. Breakfast was ordered in the evening and served individually at the table. Great idea. Location right next to the market place made it so easy to see the town.
: This is a beautiful old house so unfortunately the stairs are very steep and there is no elevator.
