: Clean, bright room, great location by the river, very friendly staff, good food. Interesting historical background to this old oil mill.

: The whole old vegetable oil mill ensemble (of which the hotel forms a part) is very impressive, with a stunning location directly on the water (the Steppnitz, with the Elbe just a few hundred metres further on). Easy walk along the water into the centre of Wittenberge. Stupendous spa (not included) in the top floor of one of the old warehouses with views far beyond the Elbe. We have never seen anything like it. Good onsite restaurant. Respect to the developer who took on this site. (As helpful signs explain, the oil mills were founded in the 19th C by the Jewish Herz family. However, I didn't find any information on how the family fared during the Nazi period.)
: The room decor was very uninteresting. Safe in the room didn't work and require unlocking by maintenance.

: Overall, the hotel is nicely designed and offers a variety of areas to spend time. We enjoyed the beach bar as well as the area around.
: The breakfast was very traditional with little options for vegans. We travelled during COVID, which leads to a not-too-busy hotel but still they put us in a room directly next to a family with two toddlers. We had crying noises during the night and sounds of active toddlers in the early morning.
