  : Linhay Cottage is in a wonderfully quiet and totally dark part of Exmoor, with the village of Withypool just a short distance away - the village shop and post office and the tea rooms were a most welcome find and we visited several times during our stay. The cottage was spotlessly clean, it is very well appointed, heating and hot water were there whenever we needed them, the wood burning stove was an added treat to come back to after a day's yomping on the moor, and the king-size bed is probably the most comfortable I have ever slept on. Whilst it is tucked away down a track, the cottage was easy to find (although we were glad we drove the track in the daylight first time round).
  : You just need to be aware that there is no phone signal at all in the cottage or the immediate area - it didn't bother me, as I don't have a mobile phone, but it might be an issue for some people. There is a landline for emergencies, should you need it.
