Hotel Am Alten Hafen

: This is a comfortable hotel in beautiful location right by Wismar's old harbour and Wassertor. It's not a far walk from the station either, it was a great place to be based for exploring the city.
: It was rather expensive for a fairly standard hotel

Wonderful
Traveller Type: Traveling as Couple
: brilliant location, lovely room, friendly staff
: Had to have breakfast alone in the conservatory because of the dog. But, actually that was not really an issue. If I could correct my previous score, it should be the full 10 points not 9 points!!

: The location of the hotel is good. It is closer to Old Town so that you can easily walk without taking any transport.
: There were no towels inside. They have forgotten about it and when we called the reception, it was already out of business hours. When we went to the reception, there was no one. That is not a huge problem since we called them out of business hours, let's say. The problem is that we mentioned the problem, when we checked out and they asked why we didn't inform them. We said that when we called, it was out business hours. They did not even apologize for the situation. Another problem was with the city tax. The other person said that I can pay it by card but when we checked out, the other one said that we can only pay the city tax with cash. That was also confusing and thankfully we had cash with us. Last but not least, the room was really smelling bad when we entered. Considering that there were no towels, I cannot be even sure that they cleaned it before we checked in. If they did, they would also put the towels, I guess.
