Disappointing

  : I was immediately disappointed when I arrived. When I pulled into the car park I actually thought I had got the wrong place as it looked as if the hotels was closed down/derelict. The outside of the hotel looks very shabby & not well maintained. The grounds were also overgrown & very untidy. The inside of the hotel looked more promising from the reception area. I was told my room was in the annexe & also told that the room was very nice. When I approached the 'annexe' it just looked like a converted garage. The door & entrance was very shabby. I opened the door to my room (19) & was immediately taken aback my the unpleasant smell, including the smell of alcohol. The room was very dark & the lighting was very dull & inadequate. The room containing the bed was quite large but the room was shabby & quite bare. View from the window was a tree a a stone wall/outbuilding acouple of feet from the window. The bathroom was not much better, broken toilet seat, black mold around the window & bath & shower fitted sideways on the wall so impossible to start directly underneath it. Breakfast also very disappointing. Ordered bacon & eggs benedict without the hollandaise sauce. The eggs were overcooked, bacon undercooked & the muffin so dry I could not cut it. I left most of it. The coffee was very weak. When I asked a member of staff for more coffee she seemed very reluctant. The only saving grace was the location of the hotel & the outside seating area. This hotel needs some investment to bring it up to the standard it requires. The price charged for this room was well overpriced for the poor state of the accommodation.

  : Location was perfect, nice and quiet with a beach opposite. Room was a fair size, very clean and a brilliant sea view. Bed was comfortable and a good night's sleep would of been had if it wasn't for a storm in the early hours. Staff were all very friendly. ZFood was excellent in the restaurant & breakfast was good too.
  : Breakfast in the morning was trying, as at one point we had dogs going for our food and when the dogs were scratching there was hairs in the air and some landed on my wife's plate. However after mentioning it on checking out, we was told that this was a designated dog area. Signage would of been good or being told in advance.

  : A comfortable hotel with excellent facilities. Everyone was welcoming. The dinner menu was extensive and it was nice to select a freshly prepared breakfast option. Highly recommend.
