  : The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I spent little time at the hotel during the day, but the lady who served breakfast was amazing. Although she spoke little English, and myself little German, I enjoyed our interactions. She made me feel at home every morning with a welcoming smile and some kindly words. The breakfast itself was excellent, with a fine presentation of meats, cheese, fish, eggs and lovely fresh bread rolls.My room was basic but clean and spacious. There was a large TV, coffee making facilities and mineral water provided.There were a few dedicated parking places at the rear of the hotel and there was always a spot for my hire car.The location is great for access to the centre of Waltrop which is a lovely little place, and people were friendly wherever I visited. There are good public transport links as well to nearby Dortmund and beyond.
  : The chef/owner was on holiday, so other than breakfast the restaurant was closed all week. Whilst I did not mind venturing out to find somewhere to eat each night I would have liked to enjoy a meal there. I was also not informed this would be the case.There was a heatwave during my stay, and there was no air-conditioning. Although the room was provided with a small fan it did get a little uncomfortable. The facilities mentioned a fridge and there wasn't one in the room, I didn't query it but if there was access to one elsewhere then it was not obvious.

  : Very clean rooms equipped with coffee machine and a bottle of sparkling water each day. The staff where super friendly and kind and breakfast was simple yet ample. The hotel is also a restaurant, which serves delicious food in the evening.
  : No mini fridge in my room and shower head in need of descaling or replacing.

  : Even though the conversation with staff was limited by the language barrier ( germans are well known for their pride in speaking ONLY their language), staff came out as suuper friendly. Even though we haven't requested it, they went extra mile and offered a baby cot when they saw we booked for 2 adults and 1 baby. That shows deep care over the needs (potential) of their guests. Room was ULTRA MODERN with LED bathroom mirror, plenty lighting fixtures for everyone's tastes (bright/dimm/whatever), everything finished to hight stsndards.
  : The SMELL coming from the kitchen. It was awfully GOOOOOD!!!! I was starving just from feeling how GOOD it was Can't find something we didn't liked, maybe the location, as it's 25-30min drive north of Dortmund, but that's expected when you search and see the location.

  : Krups coffee machine in room, quality television program offering, close to other business for meals and drinks.
  : Uncomfortable bed that kept collapsing making sleep difficult and continually interrupted. Church bells next door rang at all hours of the day and night.
