  : Nice place, seems to be family run, friendly staff. My room was clean but the furniture and fixtures were fairly old and worn. Close to the train station but fairly quiet because it's away from main roads and train tracks. Their restaurant was good but I ordered the apple strudel which was ok but was served with strawberry ice cream. That isn't a good match. It also came with whipped cream on top of the hot strudel pieces which looked nice (see photo) but soon melted so it probably would have been better on the side. The main course was good and came with a small salad. Price was reasonable. Good service.

  : Perfect breakfast! Room was clean and nice. The central heating was workig, so if you have wet clothes, you can dry it. For a dinner you can buy good food in hotel restaurat. Of course beer too. The crew of this hostel is very nice :) No problem to keep a bike in safe place for a night.

  : The best thing of Hotel Chata is the food. Where one can order Eisbein (grilled porc leg) for such an excellent price/qualty ? The restaurant happens to attract many locals and rightly so (many kinds of non-pasteurised tap beer for example). By car travelling to the touristic hot spot Cesky Krumlov takes an hour through an amazing Bohemian Forest scenery. After our day trip in this Renaissance jewel one can relish in an evening dinner, that no restaurant in Cesky Krumlov can match (with the same price/quality ratio). In the bathroom the shower was OK. The bed has a spring mattress, which was OK enough. The Wifi was excellent. The breakfast (until 10 o'clock) was very OK. The coffee is senseo, There is juice, tea, mineral water, three kinds of German jam, butter, various kinds of cheese (Danish blue!), salami and ham, cornflakes and three kinds of yoghurt. The bread consists of grey bread and white bread rolls. Fruit, tomatos, cucumber. In the sleeping room there are two mineral water bottles and two sweets. The tap water is excellent.
  : The impression of the accomodation area reflects the pre-1989 Communist period. The vinyl floor of the sleeping room was not really clean. The toilet missed the plastic cover, which was stocked at the backside. The wash-basin protrudes in such a manner over the toilet pot, that one has to move queerly sideways to get on and off. The Hotel Chata is situated close to the train station of Volary. All in all this venue can be recommended for those who love the best possible pub food and who don't mind an outdated accomodation atmosphere. The personal and the lady owner are very pleasant and helpful.
