  : clean room, modern bathroom with plenty hot water, air con worked and stunning views over the harbour from room, bar and restaurant. Food was buffet style and excellent value, not 50 mediocre dishes but 10 or so excellent options that not left to simmer all night but topped up as and when required so fresh and hot. location close to el estell with restaurants and bars. car parking available.
  : guests allowed to believe they had sole right to use of sunbeds around pool by placing their towels and book on lounger at 07.30 and then turning up when they wanted. hotel should remove towels if not being used when their is a demand for sunbeds

  : Good breakfasts, good shower, good views. The Agamenon is a perfectly adequate, if old-fashioned, hotel with a couple of good employees (rsula in reception, and the barman) and some others who frankly should consider a change of career. It also seems to have remarkably poor overall management, and unsatisfactory IT, as evidenced by the fact that a post-stay request for comments was sent twice to the same email address at the same time as a repeated pre-stay welcome message. Very amateurish.
  : Repeated requests for a particular bed type were ignored, resulting in a disastrous check-in process. The request was not for anything extraordinary, just a double bed as opposed to two singles. The reservation was made on 13 April and confirmed by three emails from the hotel. A double bed was requested. A number of emails repeated the request and were met either with no reply or a statement to the effect of "well see what we can do". On the morning of 8 June my niece, a serving police officer and not prone to deception, visited reception and repeated the request. We arrived in the evening of 8 June, repeated the request to the duty receptionist who seemed bewildered and had no record of the request. He tried his best, showed us to a room which had twin beds at which point my wife and I became irritated at the level of incompetence (not the receptionists fault, this was a systemic problem with the hotels inability to assign bed types to customers requesting them). Eventually he discovered that a room with a double bed had been assigned to some guests who had not yet checked in, and gave us that room. The whole process took over half an hour, it was like something out of the third world in the 1970s. The following morning we approached reception to discuss the problem and were told (not by rsula, nor by the night receptionist) "I am here every morning and your niece did not make such a request, I never spoke to her." There is no language problem here; I speak fluent Spanish and English and my wife is Spanish. My niece also speaks both languages. Conclusion: the hotels management, or its IT systems, or both, need an urgent review and overhaul. Any business in the hospitality industry that cannot assign bed or room types to customers who have booked two months in advance needs to have a look at itself.

  : Bathrooms were clean and staff were helpful.
  : Extremely overpriced for what your get. Definitely not 4 stars- maybe a 3 star hotel for the location. The buffet breakfast was inedible.
