  : Location was great for us, well out in the countryside. A vehicle would be needed unless all the time is to be spent at the location. The rooms were basic but were clean and quite sufficiently equipped for our stay. Breakfast was good and a more than reasonable choice of items to enjoy. The pool and surrounds were attractive and would entertain families for quite some time. Joo - the host had a lot of time for each guest, explaining all about the hotel, rooms and location and also provided oodles of information about this area of Portugal and was on hand much of the day and evening.
  : The bed frame in our room and that of our friends kept catching our legs when we each walked around the bedrooms. The frame as substantially bigger than the mattress. A painful learning curve was needed to negotiate this safely!

  : We really liked the room and the suite, in general, we liked the space and the experience. We enjoyed the pool and the breakfast had a variety of options.
  : We really liked the room and the suite, however, the crib was not so comfortable for my baby.

  : not the end of the world but our family suite was located a short drive from the main part of the hotel which meant driving up and down with children and us being separated from the rest of our party who were in a double room by the pool. Lots of sharp edges around the room and pool area was not toddler friendly, but fine once children are steady on their feet

  : - rooms were stuffed with old things from 1990s, like a tube TV. - bad internet connection - the entire place was a bit rundown with a I don't-care-anymore-attitude

  : We enjoyed the breakfast and the tapas at night. For both breakfast and tapas they use fresh products, very tasty! The place is very quiet, which was perfect. The yoga class was nice as well :)

  : Quiet area with good swimming pool to relax. the breakfast area is good and the staff is very friendly and give good recommendations.
  : Were were expecting much more from this Herdade and specially for the price and classification. We stayed in a room with no windows (the door had some glass windows but not the same) and no view since the door is facing a big wall. The room is far from the main building and without a fridge (its a must for this region). The mattress is very hard and uncomfortable, and with some cold/blue lights make the room a cold ambience. The homestead is big but not inviting for any kind of walk or visit.The breakfast is good but the coffee is terrible (for Portuguese standards).We were expecting a place with typical Portuguese charm but we were quite disappointed.

  : This is a hotel to scape the crowds, which in August in the Algarve is very welcome. The setting is idylic. The rooms are spacious, clean and well air conditioned. The beds are comfortable. The hotel has a family feeling to it, the pool was very nice and never crowded. There were plenty of families and our daughter made friends with children who were staying there. The breakfast is very good and the petiscos (tapas) options for dinner are well prepared. The staff is very welcoming, accommodating and helpful. The recommendations by the managers (specially Joao) were incredibly on point and never disappointed.
  : The annex with the family suites is away from the main hotel. It is not too far, but it is a steep and narrow road, not really walkable with young children - specially in August heat. But that does mean it is very quiet up there at night. While the rooms are spacious, they could do with one or comfortable chairs (or a sofa), a new TV and wifi (there is wifi in the main hotel, but not on the family annex, at least when we visited) Bear in mind the hotel is 15 minute drive from anywhere, which I like but may be a consideration for others
