: Hands down this is the most spectacular place I have ever stayed. Somehow, the owner creates both a feeling of utter luxury whilst also allowing you the impression that you almost "own" the place for your stay. The luxury starts from the moment you enter a code on the ominous lower road entrance. From here you park in a garage carved into the rock then enter a private funicular lift that pops you up into the amazing minimalistic architecture of the bedroom floors of the villa. The bedrooms views are amazing...but then you head to the upper level and the wide angel view you have of Zahara across the beautiful infinity pool is breathtaking. Straight out of a Hollywood film set. Its this brilliant self check-in that creates the impression you own a little piece of this luxury for your stay. The icing on the cake is the wonderful lady who greeted us for breakfast in the morning. She is the soul of the villa - truly friendly, helpful and a nice human essence to a building that feels more scandinavian than Andalucian. Again, she made us feel at home (if home is a multi-million euro villa...not your aunts house).
: Hard to think of anything that would detract from the amazing experience but we werent sure if we could drink the tap water and therefore a complimentary bottle of water would have been welcome. Also, during COVID times, without use of the kitchen, it would be helpful to have a few plates and cutlery in the room - even if youre eating out for most meals, its nice to have the things available to make a snack (as you would in either a rental property or a more standard hotel).
