  : I loved the historic architecture that was retained and furnished in a very eclectic style.
  : it is a shame that a stair lift could not be added (sympathetic to the overall style) for those of us who find stairs very painful and who were unaware/unable to book a garden room.Also, on the first night the kitchen closed early due to 5 bookings that did not show up, meaning the only food I could get was a Deliveroo pizza from Pizza Hut

  : The location, building, and grounds are lovely. The bed linen, towels, and bathroom were clean. The dining room and bar staff were delightful, helpful, and we're doing their best.
  : The whole of the interior is extremely tired, unloved and grubby looking. The doors were grubby with ingrained grease and grime. The bedroom furniture was very tatty indeed and the AC unit was bizarrely fitted through the window via what looked like a tumble dryer hose. The water to the shower pulsated rather than flowed, and after a minute or so got even slower - it seemed - and sounded - as though the pump was giving up. The handbasin stand had areas without the hideous dark brown varnish where there had obviously been some bad water leaks. One of the (unnecessary) wall mounted soap dishes was missing, and the toothbrush holder ring was broken. Apart from a hook on one of the bathroom doors, there was nowhere to hang towels. Both doors were very grubby and needed a proper clean. There were no points for phone charging and no hairdryer. The rear terrace has a delightful aspect with views over the lawn to the lake, but is in need of some tlc. There is a huge noisy and smelly fan from the kitchen positioned midway so it is a constant intrusion to the ambiance.The window frames to the whole building are peeling paint and rotting. This beautiful building needs a serious injection of a lot of money and some sympathetic re-designing. It is very sad and an utter disgrace that has not been looked after.

  : Beautiful, peaceful and tranquil location. The main house is stunning, everything is a bit dated but not in a bad way. Bed was very comfortable, the shower adequate. For a short stay it was great.
