  : The staff were excellent, very accommodating and polite. Lovely location, beautiful property - just needs some love!
  : Because the hotel is winding down there were some gaps in what was on offer … food for example, and the breakfast available was quite poor. There really wasn’t much atmosphere either.Our first room was dirty and smelled of smoke… however we were moved to a better room which was clean and very comfortable.

  : The room was a good size and the staff were lovely and helpful.
  : Unfortunately the hotel is closing down in a few weeks so it was very limited with drinks and food. Only one pump on at the bar and breakfast menu didn’t have any of the extras listed. Distance from hotel to the local villages meant you had to take the car everywhere. Taxis were not available when needed and price for a 4/5 mile journey was pricey £60 return.

  : we were aware that it was shutting for a complete refurbishment but Front house was friendly and made up for missing staff
  : as above shame it wasn't in is full glory ! Great views and location

  : Great setting, beautiful grounds.The staff here should be applauded. Went above and beyond the call of duty on more than one occasion. Receptionist seemed to be doing everything herself and still did more than was expected.
  : No restaurant (however options of delivery into the hotel from nearby takeaways). Breakfast not served until 8am, which is too late for us. The bar wasn’t manned, as you needed to go to reception to be served. Bottled beer only. Rooms are extremely hot with no air on and windows that only open an inch or so. People suffering from hot flushes, stay away.We stayed here 3 or 4 years ago and it was a completely different and much more positive experience.

  : Location is beautiful, beds were comfortable and the room size was larger than most in the area.
  : The dining area needs a massive refurb. Carpets are worn, torn and stained. The waiting on staff that weekend were quite rude.The shower in our bathroom leaked all night on both nights, disrupting our sleep even though we closed the bathroom door. We reported it to reception but nothing was done. We came away more exhausted than when we arrived. Definitely won't be returning.

  : staff were very friendly
  : Property very dated and in need of significant maintenance / modernisation. The property looks like it is on its last legs in places. The first room we were checked into smelt terribly (also mentioned by other reviewers), and we were moved to a new room. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, they are just let down by state of the property.
