  : The host there was a wonderful French-Swiss lady who did everything she could to make me and my wife comfortable! She checked us in, showed us our room, and on our last day when we ordered breakfast she laid it out and had some Swiss music playing in the dining room. She was a pleasure to chat with and get to know the history of the property and how she came to be the proprietor there. Hospitality runs in her veins! The property is a 20-30 minute drive from Lake Constance and some spectacular hiking in Switzerland!
  : The hotel is in a nice location, though a bit off the beaten path if you're looking to be right next to Lake Constance- that's about a 20 minute drive through some windy roads. The accommodation of the hotel itself is dated- though I believe it's a trade of dated furniture for the ambiance and small village feel, since you wake up next to a cow field and active farm with a view of the village and surrounding hills.

  : Breakfast was good. Room perfect for family. Location excellent--very nice town close to St Gallen and Appenzell attractions. Hosts super friendly and helpful.
  : No restaurant for dinner and limited options nearby due to Covid. Host very helpful in arranging take out from St Gallen and providing us with a place to eat.

  : Great hotel in a typical Appenzelloise style construction. Large room with good beds and bathroom. On the countryside but close to everything. Clean and very inviting. Would definitely go again.

  : Its an old building and locates in a quiet country. Looking outside from our rooms were beautiful.
  : The ceiling is low. My husband who is 6 hit his forehead a couple of time on the bathroom door ceiling.

  : The hotel doesn't look as nice on the outside as the photos. Furthermore, the ceilings are very low, in some corridors i couldn't walk upright (188 cm tall). Rooms were not much higher but I could stand upright.

  : Laure, the owner, is an absolute charme! She took such good care of me, I can't thank her enough! So kind and helpful. Breakfast was also super tasty and fresh, I loved it. Specious rooms, well equipped. Will be back again!
