  : Couple who ran the hotel are really nice and helpful. Cleaning is excellent and prompt. Some nice views of the mountains we drove down to get to Sougia. For a 3 star hotel this does almost everything it should. The town is awesome. Really secluded and laid back, the undeveloped nature of the town is great to see. The beach is very nice but it is large rocks so you need water shoes. Walk to far left of the beach and youll find a secluded cove that is really nice (its clothing optional).
  : Air conditioning and power only work when you are in the room. We had two very young kids with us and this made it hard to keep room cool and to charge appliances. The air con also quits when you open a door or window, so, for example, if you go out on to your balcony for breakfast or lunch the air con will switch off. We understand the economical and environmental impact for the owners but here it seemed like a stretch, and had a larger impact on the guest. There is nothing the owners can do about this but the wind in Sougia can be intense. We were here in July and we left 5 days into a 7 day stay. Check the Windy app for real time info if youd like some forewarning. The owners were really nice when we were leaving and we all understood the situation. They gave us a bottle of wine to soften the blow. There are no sea views. One of the pictures has a quadrant that looks like a sea view, but youd have to ask for that apartment specifically.

  : We stayed 5 nights and would have stayed longer, if we had more time. The location is great. Along the (very quiet) main street, 5 min down the road is the beach, the clear water and the local restaurants etc. It was our first stay in Sougia and the hotel as well as the village by far exceeded our expectations. Very friendly people, family type atmosphere in most places. You can do a lot of really nice hikes directly from the village/hotel. Ancient ruins, cave of Polifemos, Taxi or Bus to Samaria Gorge and other places, then back by boat etc everything is very easy. Marcos, the owner of the hotel, was extremely helpful with a number of suggestions how to turn or thoughts into activities. When to go where, which method of transportation and more (thanks a lot again for this!!) Sougia turned out to be a very relaxed type of village. In many places you get authentic food of great quality for rather small prices (and for us a bit to large portions). We will come again to the village and the hotel.

  : The apartment was excellent and the location, a little back from the sea front, was good. The couple running the hotel were very helpful and could not have done any more to make our stay more comfortable.
