Disappointing

  : Breakfast was good although we always felt rationed with the minimum amount of butter and ketchup given . Just little things like the napkins were obviously the cheapest. The hosts were very amiable and helpful.
  : The property is decorated with bizarre objects (for instance - the squashed tortoise in the dining room!)it could be really lovely with less Knick knacks , really bad squeaking floors . Our bed was fairly comfortable although the pillows had seen better days. The towels were dreadful and should be replaced - old and stiff . The shower and toilet water pressure was dreadful so it was an unpleasant experience.

  : Your cooked breakfast was delicious and the location of your guest house was peaceful being in a remote area.I am inspired by your bedside lamps with the beautiful backdrop on the wall, very calming.
  : The water pressure in the shower was abit slow but otherwise there wasn't anything that we really didn't like.

  : Only downside was we only had a skylight so could not see anything or leave it open as right over a bed. Also water pressure was very poor but water was lovely and hot. Hopefully we will stay again next year but will make sure I book room with window .

  : It is very cosy, the staff were friendly, the breakfast was spot on and delicious. We stayed to go to a midnight swim nearby and the staff were accommodating giving us the key code so we could get back in. We would recommend.

  : Food was tasty on the Friday night along with breakfast on both mornings. Sausage, scrambled egg and beans. The scrambled egg was the creamiest I've had in a while.
  : Noisy floorboards, shower took a bit to warm up.

  : Very good breakfast. Staff pleasant. Pleasant bar and restaurant area.
  : Room was reasonably comfortable but tired looking. Bed linen stained ( looked as if had been slept in). Matted black hair found under pillow. Black throw on bed looked unwelcoming. Surfaces very dusty especially around yes making area.

  : Location ideal for exploring the Yorkshire moors, and we even spent a day checking out Hadrians Wall. Another day visiting Witney. York was only 20 miles away. Parked at the Park and Ride just out of the city and spent a day exploring York. Breakfast was great and the hosts Dawn and her husband (including barman who checked us in) were all down to earth.
  : Being more senior in age, the steps to our room were rather awkward (steep and circular) but that was part of the experience. After all we are in 300 year old building. The door was about 5 foot 6 inches in height, so required bending to get in. But I would not change that, as we were staying in a historical building. When it was built they catered for the people of that era and didnt know the following generations were going to be so tall!
