  : The chateau is a beautiful and extremely interesting, historic building, furnished throughout with antiques, original furnishings and wall coverings and some quirky features which the owner took delight in showing us! It was like staying in a lovely country house from another age, and it was beautifully maintained with lots of photographs and information about its history. The terrace and gardens were also a highlight. Although smaller than anticipated, the green room was beautiful and well organised and the bed was extremely comfortable.
  : We arrived one hour before check-in (which is quite late at 4pm) after a long journey. The gates were closed and the owners were not keen to let us in at first. We were allowed to park our car, but not allowed onto the grounds or even to sit on the terrace while our room was being prepared. The hotel seemed to be empty as no other cars were in the car park, and we found this a little strange. Also, for a 5 star hotel, we felt the provision of only a couple of sachets of instant coffee and powdered milk could have been improved and although we stayed for 2 nights, these were not replenished and neither were the toiletries in the bathroom. I do not want to distract from the overall experience, but for a 5 star hotel, one expects these as a matter of course.

  : The hotel is a restored chateau, the architecture, furnishings etc are stunning, the bedroom was large and again furnished in period style but with modern facilities such as shower, the hotel has a bar but no restaurant but there are lots of excellent high quality restaurants within a short walk. The owners were very helpful.
  : There were a lot of tiny flies in Saumur and particularly in the garden and round the pool area which restricted our use of the wonderful outdoor space

  : A gem of a little chateau in its original condition, with old furniture, very welcoming owner and staff.

  : - Beautiful property, nice garden and impressive lounges. That's it.
  : - No air conditioning in bedrooms. This means that during an increasingly more frequent heatwave, you will really suffer (the fans provided are loud and just move hot air). Avoid this place if you are travelling with an elderly person or a baby; really dangerous. Opening the window did not do anything until about 5AM. - Poor welcome. We arrived at the property about 3hrs before check-in, under an unbearable heat. We simply wanted to drop our luggage, get a fresh drink and head back out. The reception told us we could not stay until check-in, so they sent us out. Not even offering something to drink (remember the 35 degrees heat...). The reception just looked at the gate and said come back at check-in. Even COVID can make check-in more complex, there are certain standards of hospitality a hotel must absolutely meet.

  : This is a very beautiful house and hotel, and the room I staid in was warm, and beautiful and very clean. The bath tub was great. The people who own the hotel were very nice.
