  : Perfect location, very friendly and helpfull staff. The room was very spacious. The central location gives you a lot of options for eating out. Te sea is 1 minute walk from the apartment.

  : The hotel is in the heart of Santa Cruz, which is small town near the airport. There were nice views of the mountains and the square opposite. You can walk to the rocky beach in 2 mins, which excellent views of the planes approaching at the Funchal, Madeira airport. There is an excellent supermarket which also 2 mins from the hotel. The television has an extensive range of cable channels including CNN and BBC. The air-conditioning was well placed at the entrance, and cooled the whole apartment, without being directly over your bed. The wide table is most appreciated. During summer it may be difficult to get ice. However, the bar & restaurant below, (which manages the hotel) can be provide ice for free if needed. The hotel can organise taxis anywhere at any time. Very supportive staff. A taxi is 5 Euros from the airport, or 10 Euros from the hotel in early hours of the morning. If you have limited luggage, it is possible to walk to the airport in about 30 mins - a sidewalk/foot pavement is provided in both directions.
  : The shower head did not connect to shower holder, so it was necessary to hand use: a normal shower was not possible. A small fridge would be nice. Maybe the hotel could change their name. The name implies a hostel for professors/or teachers, which is not really true!. However, there might be some historical reason why this name is used OR to simply represent good value.

  : 1) Room was packed with insects: ants, mosqitos, who knows what else, but I was biten heavily like never before in my life. Can't sleep, it's scratching. Looks really ugly. Thought it was some infection, but doctor told it were insects.2) It should have been a 'garden view' according to the decribtion, but view is on the opposite building wall in 2 meters and noisy street. Torture for light sleeper like me.

  : The bed was comfortable and big, even bigger than what I have at home. It was a reasonable size room for 2 people like my parents, especially for the days we stayed. There is nothing else I can say positive for this place.
  : In a normal hotel, a cleaner is meant to at least every 2 days to at least take the trash and change towels. However, no towels were changed until we tried calling the number to report this. Also, despite the room being reasonable size, there was no bed-side table, only a shelf on the wall, and also not enough hangers in the room. Due to this, we had to keep at least half of the clothes in our luggage due to the lack of space.
