: The place is very remote and very nice and calm, ideal for a switch-off retreat. Jose is caring host. The diner is served in very romantic setup and the night sky is breathtaking at Can Jou. Room was clean and comfortable.
: One of the main reasons why I booked this place was the availability of pool (stated concretely that it's functioning till 15/9), however after arrival we found out the pool is not available any more (despite still a very hot weather), which was quite upsetting - considering the circumstances. Also there are 2 german shepherd dogs which are moving freely around the property - they are super friendly but for someone who is not very keen on dogs it can be problematic as the dogs are closely with you wherever you move outside (it was not a problem for me, but there were guests having problem to even leave the room and go for breakfast because of that).

: We really enjoyed our stay in Can Jou. The location is remote and offers peace, quiet and beautiful surroundings. The accommodation was really what we were looking for : a large double bedroom with simple but cosy decor and a large covered terrace with views on the mountains. The buffet breakfast was really good with local products including : charcuterie, cheese, jam, honey, cereals, fruits, yogurts, etc. The dinners were really good as well, home cooked food! The hosts were really nice and helpful.

: We loved the tranquil rural location in the Garrotxa hills, up a small winding, wooded road. The peace was heavenly with fantastic views of the Garrotxa and in the distance the high Pyrenees. The decor is simple and rustic, which for us added to the charm, and our room had a good sized balcony with views over the hills. The hosts, Gloria and Jos were very friendly and welcoming. We chose to dine at Can Jou for the 3 nights we stayed there and were rewarded by Joss superb three course dinners. The ambience in the dining room was also good. We also enjoyed the breakfasts which included lovely bread, local honey and jams, good cheeses and meats plus eggs cooked to order from Can Jous free range hens. We enjoyed a few short local walks including one to a nearby Romanesque Church. Also a short drive away are some well preserved medieval villages to visit and we would recommend Besal and Santa Pau and its local nearby extinct volcano, Santa Margarida.
