  : The hotel is pretty with very comfortable and well-appointed furnishings that match the Victorian vibe. The breakfast was very good and creatively fixed. It is very unique in the SLO area as a well put together period hotel - showing what the valley must have been like 100 years ago, but the furnishings and the bathrooms feel fresh.
  : The staff member on duty at night was visibly and audibly annoyed about people ringing the bell to get in. She sent directions on how to enter - but guests are not obligated to read their texts, and most hotels would not lock their doors after a certain time of night. She should have dealt with it happily and with good humor. She was not sitting on the ground floor and it took her several minutes to come upstairs when I rang. When another guest let me in as I stood on the doorstep, this manager snapped at her in an unpleasant voice, "do not let strangers in without my permission" referring to me as a stranger in front of me. She also spoke in an unnecessarily loud and unpleasant voice for the remainder of the evening. I was friendly and kind toward her, hoping to allay her edgy mood, and she eventually started to speak a little more quietly. She was concerned about the noise, but failed to realize she was exacerbating the situation by being annoyed and speaking loudly. Also, there is no parking onsite. You can use the bank parking next door until 9am. The bell could be changed to a silent notice to the staff person's phone.

  : Fantastic location, right in the town center, gorgeous charming building and decor. Breakfast was outstanding with homemade banana bread and a fantastic avocado toast with chili oil eggs on top. The staff was extremely kind and let me and my husband check out late and then stay for a few hours in the entry/dining room to work on our laptops. They even brought us a freshly baked pastry they were preparing for the following breakfast (after I inquired about the heavenly smell coming from the kitchen). The lovely and extremely talented chef is the best part of this wonderful place. Thank you!
  : I liked everything, my only suggestion for improvement would be to enhance the patios in the rooms with patio/balcony, as they are fairly bare for now and do not match the rest of the fantastic place. A few plants and a cute outdoor sitting set would go a long way.

  : Not worth what we paid. The room was very small. The balcony was a joke - no view and had cobwebs all over.
