  : I liked that the hotel had character. It was also very clean. The location was the best thing.
  : Honestly, I don’t think this hotel is a 5 star. Yes it is beautiful, clean and the staff is friendly but they do not maintain the facilities well. The main entrance doors do not work well, they are hard and heavy. Secondly, my room for example, the shower head was rusted and had mold on it. The sink had dents and the paint was chipped. The beds were really uncomfortable and the pillows too! No support at all. Lastly, the toilet room was not clean either, the tile was still dirty. I personally think this hotel is more of a 4 star. I was expecting everything to be perfect but it wasn’t. Valet parking was pricey but the guys were great. I wish they could reiterate that everywhere on their website and reservation confirmation

  : Location is decent. Easily accessible. Staff was friendly. Beds were comfortable.
  : I typically don't complain, but our room was roasting upon arrival; we were sweating just moving around. I'm talking sweat running down our backs. We turned the temperature down when we left and spoke to someone who said it would have it checked out. When we returned several hours later, the temperature had been turned back up, and the room was still hot. We turned it back down, hoping it would cool off enough before bed. There is no way the room ever got to the temperature we had it set on. We had to sleep without anything covering us up to stay cool enough. It also felt very humid, and we woke up feeling sticky. The hallways felt great, though. Some areas looked like they had not been dusted for several days (lamp on the nightstand), which made me also a bit concerned regardless of the proper cleanliness of the room. Everything else appeared clean, but I do not prefer cutting corners when it comes to staying in a hotel room that several other people have been in. This was our second stay at the hotel, and we had some of the same issues with the AC prior, but we decided to give them another try. I am not sure that we will stay here again.

  : The location was central and walkable to the Riverwalk, however San Antonio has so much construction going on that the surrounding area was very dusty and the streets were horrible for driving because of the amount of potholes.
  : Our first room had mold on the bathroom ceiling, so they allowed us to change rooms. However, our second room’s AC was low and we couldn’t fix it to get a better room temperature in the middle of the hot Texas summer. At this point, we were so exhausted from moving rooms and our trip that we chose to stay in this room despite the AC. Both rooms were incredibly dusty and the outlets in both rooms only had one working where we had to share from to charge our electronics. Since it’s next to the Alamo and the Riverwalk, the security to get up to the rooms should be increased as anyone can get in to the elevators to go up to the room floors. The AC units seem outdated as each time it would turn on, it sounded like someone was knocking on our room’s door and as you can imagine this would wake us up at night. Both rooms are incredibly dimly lit where we had to use our phone flashlights to find things at night.

  : City view was nice and the warm cookies they give during check in were nice.
  : We had to wait one hour to check-in because the rooms weren't clean yet, and we ended getting rooms on separate floors. The "free" breakfast is horrible in quality and the restaurant is dirty. Even if you get the "free" breakfast, they force you to pay a pre-set tip. There is no parking at the hotel, there is a lot next door that charges $33 per night. The hotel apparently used to be a hospital, it is very old and definitely not 4 stars. The riverwalk is nearby but full of druggies and looks like a sewer.
