  : A 400 year old Swiss guest house run by a Chinese family, on the roadside from Luzern to Bern, in a rather undistinguished village - it suited us for one night, but we'd probably have done better to continue further away from Luzern and stay in one of the more charming villages in the Emmenthal region. The building is quaint, the family are pleasant, the overall effect is quite odd. Although it doesn't particularly advertize itself as a restaurant, we had a decent Chinese meal which felt like home cooking (in a good way), even though the menu is quite limited.
  : Be aware that the ceilings in the rooms are very low - I'm 6ft 3 and that's about the height of the ceilings. Also most rooms face front onto the main road - which isn't incredibly busy, but nonetheless one car going by every couple of minutes makes quite a regular loud noise if the windows are open - and the low ceiling makes the room quite stuffy and claustophobic with the windows closed. So that's your choice. We asked to be moved to one of the rear rooms, and were told that then we'd be facing the very loud clock tower! Hotel is relative cheap for Switzerland, but not quite cheap enough given all the compromises.

  : Ideal spot for a night or two if you are visiting Malters. Quick walk from the train station & nearby restaurants if you want a pizza or quick meal. Quirky old house!
  : Tea & coffee facilities would be great! On-site restaurant quite expensive for travellers.

  : Nice and clean, quiet hotel. Free parking Across the Street. Great breakfast, no buffet due to COVID but they served everything at our tabel.

  : Location was good. Staff was friendly. We also got a free parking space by the hotel. A coffee shop and a good restaurant nearby.

  : Unfortunately there was no kettle in the room and we found the tea to be expensive as it was 4.60.- for a cup.
