  : Very friendly and helpful staff and lovely location. The thick walls enabled us to feel cool in extremely hot weather and our room was very comfortable.
  : We found the constant piped music intrusive and rather irritating. Breakfasts were good, but more vegetarian options would have been appreciated for evening meals.

  : The food was excellent, both breakfast and dinner. The staff were friendly and helpful. All the little touches like fresh milk for your room, fruit, sweets and games in the bar made it very cosy. Ideally located for local walks and for getting into the Lake District.
  : A bit more storage space in the bedroom would have been useful but it wasn’t a deal breaker.

  : We booked to stay over, as we was at a wedding in the local area.We couldn’t check into the room as it was before check in time, so they gave us a key and a code to the back gate to come in through later in the evening. However they didn’t give us the code to get into the key box to get into the b&b. This resulted of us trying to get into our room for 40 minutes in the rain. Still with no luck.We had nowhere to go and had to pay to get a lift home which was 50 minutes away.Really annoying experience which like of been easily resolved if staff gave clear instructions of how to get into the pub and give us the proper access

  : Fruit , fresh milk, and extra brewing things readily available.It was quiet by 10.30 or before every night. (Stayed 3 nights).
  : The check in, no offer of carrying bags to room.Room not refreshed each day - I did refuse clean towels but would have liked clean cups and glasses.

  : Location was excellent for a local wedding.Quite expensive although room well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast ok but service a bit slow and functional.
  : More attention during breakfast service. Choice of bread for toast and served separately not on plate with cooked food.
